If you’re self-conscious about your smile due to cracked, broken, decayed, or worn teeth, we can bring back your healthy, natural-looking smile with dental crowns. Designed to fit snugly and function as normal teeth, crowns protect your teeth from further damage and preserve your jaw’s correct natural alignment. We use precious metal, porcelain pressed to metal, and all-porcelain crowns with excellent success. We often recommend all-ceramic crowns for appearance purposes because of the precise color matching systems available and because of their lengthy durability.
CEREC Same Day Inlay Patient…Same Day Crowns, Same Day Smile
Most people would rather not have to undergo the multiple dental visits normally required for crown placement. Now, thanks to a cutting-edge technology called CEREC, Dr. Phillips can perform single tooth restorations, crowns, and partial crowns in just one visit.
While the turnaround is short, the list of benefits is long: the treatment is minimally invasive, preserves a maximum amount of natural tooth structure, and results in a stronger, natural looking, healthier tooth. How? First, a state-of-the-art optical camera takes a detailed visual impression of the patient's mouth. Next, Dr. Phillips uses the impression in conjunction with computer-aided design to create a restoration according to the precise dimensions and color required. Following these specifications, the equipment fabricates the restoration from a specialized ceramic material to perfectly match the patient's other natural teeth. Finally, Dr. Phillips simply bonds the restoration into place, resulting in a beautiful new smile.
When your crowns are fitted, caring for them is no different than proper hygiene for your other teeth: conscientious twice-daily brushing and daily flossing to protect the base from bacterial growth, and regular visits to our Santa Rosa dental office for professional cleanings.
