While the turnaround is short, the list of benefits is long: the treatment is minimally invasive, preserves a maximum amount of natural tooth structure, and results in a stronger, natural looking, healthier tooth. How? First, a state-of-the-art optical camera takes a detailed visual impression of the patient's mouth. Next, Dr. Phillips uses the impression in conjunction with computer-aided design to create a restoration according to the precise dimensions and color required. Following these specifications, the equipment fabricates the restoration from a specialized ceramic material to perfectly match the patient's other natural teeth. Finally, Dr. Phillips simply bonds the restoration into place, resulting in a beautiful new smile.
When your crowns are fitted, caring for them is no different than proper hygiene for your other teeth: conscientious twice-daily brushing and daily flossing to protect the base from bacterial growth, and regular visits to our office for professional cleanings.
